About The Bakery

Susan Hecht opened her first bakery, crumb de la crumb, in 1978 in Studio City, California, specializing in cheesecakes and mousse pies of all flavors.  Two years later, she opened a more conventional bakery on Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles, with everything from danish and fancy cookies to challah and croissants.  After five years, Susan closed her bakery to go back into the entertainment industry where she worked in various capacities in television production until 1996 when she made the transition to feature films, a position she held until 2007.

During the last two years, Susan toyed with the idea of going back into the bakery business.  But she didn't want to bake the same cookies and brownies everyone was selling.  After diligently searching the marketplace, she decided that no one made a great macaroon.  There were many macaroons out there but none was great.  So, she began experimenting with different ingredients and procedures until she came up with what was to be known as myMacs... a truly gourmet macaroon.  She tested myMacs on her friends, family and coworkers during this time until they all agreed that they were ready for market.

She hopes you enjoy myMacs as much as she enjoys producing them.
